NSOR Book Launch

New Shoots Old Roots: Book Launch
Saturday 27 October: 1:00 – 3:30pm
Glasgow Women’s Library, 23 Landressy St

As part of Black History Month 2018 we are delighted to invite you to the book launch of New Shoots Old Roots.

This publication has been produced in collaboration with ACWA, African & Caribbean Women's Association, reflecting on and recognising the achievements of African and Caribbean women in Scotland.

The women reflect on some of their experiences of coming to Scotland between 1950s and 1990s, through interviews and photography.

There are a limited number of these first edition books for sale at the special launch price of £10, so arrive early to avoid disappointment.

The event will include an introduction from guest speaker Dr Ima Jackson and readings from some of the books' contributors, followed by a performance from the ACWA children’s choir and concluding with food and refreshments.

This is part of an on-going project supported by Heritage Lottery that will culminate in a second publication next year involving new contributions, adding to the rich narratives and tapestry of experiences that reflect African and Caribbean women in Scotland.

The launch is being hosted by the Glasgow Women's Library.  We would encourage the use of public transport to the launch, details of which can be found Here
