Street Level Photoworks are delighted to announce new opportunities within our Culture Collective programme for the community of recent photography graduates.
[im]PACT offers supported creative development opportunities for photography graduates who studied during the pandemic, graduated in 2021 or 2022 and had interrupted physical access to facilities and the development of confident analogue skills.
The opportunities are in response to this identified need from graduates and take the form of funded placements for six graduates at either HND or BA level in a 12-week programme that will introduce:
· SLR camera skills
· B&W and colour film processing
· B&W darkroom printing
· Film scanning on a Hasselblad Flex-tight scanner
· Studio skills – using flash and modelling lights to creative effect
· Practice in context - looking at some of Street Levels’ socially engaged work, some of the issues,
challenges and good practice examples.
Successful candidates will also receive critical and creative feedback on the development of a body of work alongside skills development workshops.
To support engagement, we are offering a Bursary of £3,000 (£1,000 a month) plus travel and material expenses up to £500 over a fixed 3-month period and free access to Street Level’s production facilities 3 days a week.
The placements will run in two blocks: mid-April - mid-July and mid-July - mid-October, concluding in a final sharing event at the end of October 2023 celebrating achievements and sharing learning.
Deadline for applications is 5pm 10th March 2023. Please note current students are not eligible.
