Members Exhibition: Frank McElhinney
Members Space, Street Level Facility - 15th November 2016 - 6th January 2017
Members Event Tuesday 15th November, 6-8pm. All members welcome.
Frank McElhinney's work is the latest to be included in a series of members exhibitions hosted at Street Level. These will provide members with an opportunity to show and speak about works in progress to other members.
Frank: 'This project is a response to the current migration 'crisis'. It involves photographing along the route of the Antonine Wall both from the ground and air. The wall was once the northwest frontier of the Roman Empire. It was built to control the movement of people between Britannia and Caledonia and as a symbol of imperial power. Soldiers from several territories built and garrisoned the wall including Romans, Germans, Iberians and Syrians. Today the wall is a Broken Line running across central Scotland, a reminder that all borders are transitory.'
