Forever Changes Artist Talk - Christian Houge
6.30pm Thursday 10th February
Livestreamed through Facebook*
For the fourth in our series of Forever Changes artist talks we will be joined by Norwegian artist Christian Houge.
Houge's series Death of a Mountain explores environmental issues we face in the age of the Anthropocene, the current geological age where human activity has been the dominant influence on climate and the environment. Through this project Houge creates a homage to the Rhone glacier in Switzerland and examines the fragility of nature and warns of the effects of our ignorance and lack of connection to the natural world. The glacier serves as a microcosm of several issues facing the current environmental situation as forests disappear, species go extinct and temperatures, as well as oceans, continue to rise rapidly.
We will also be joined by Thale Fastvold, chair of Forbundet Frie Fotografer (FFF - The Norwegian Association for Fine Art Photographers).
