THIS EVENT IS NOW FULLY BOOKED
Join environmental artist Scott Hunter for an introduction to using plant-based developers to process photographic films. His Darkroom Ecology project explores nature-based solutions to harmful chemicals used in analogue photography. This session includes an artist talk and demonstration on developing B+W film sustainably using organic matter such as moss. In addition, he proposes replacing silver-containing fixers with salt water, offering a non-toxic alternative to the disposal of heavy metals in water systems. This workshop will provide a basic understanding of eco-processing to allow you to experiment further and develop your recipes. This workshop is suitable for adults with a keen interest in analogue photography.
Please bring your own fully shot but undeveloped roll of 35mm B&W film to the session, ideally Ilford HP5 ISO400.
