FUTUREPROOF returns for its 14th year, celebrating some of the incredible photographic work emerging from the BA Photography and Fine Art degrees shows of the colleges, universities, and art schools across Scotland with artists represented from courses in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Orkney, and Stirling.

This annual showcase of new talent in photographic image-making reflects the range of approaches and subject matter from recent graduates, celebrating photography as a versatile form of creative expression. Since its inception in 2008 FUTUREPROOF has grown both in terms of geographical spread and the number of graduates featured and has established itself as a key exhibition within contemporary photography from Scotland. championing the talent and diversity of newly graduated artists from across the length and breadth of Scotland.

For the first time this landmark exhibition takes place simultaneously across Street Level Photoworks and Stills (Edinburgh) - Scotland’s two dedicated photography galleries. This collaboration has enabled FUTUREPROOF 2022 to encapsulate more of the rich and varied forms of contemporary photographic practice by emerging artists from across the country. The selected artists have each expressed their unique styles and approaches to photography; exploring traditional and alternative methods - plus a range of different mediums in their presentations, alongside artist-made books and other mediums.

The exhibition at Stills features work by Lottie Allen, Meg Auld, Mark Anthony Burgoyne, Sam Currie, Tilly Howie, Thomas Irving, Anní Mara, Adam Salmond, Joanna Stawnicka, Connie Stewart and Jess Wishart and is on show until Saturday 28th January 2023.
