New Photographers Guild is a mentored photography programme preparing recent graduates for professional life beyond education led by Elaine Livingstone, Photographer, Claire Stewart, Photography Lecturer, and James Pfaff, artist and photographer, in association with Street Level Photoworks.
Following the second successful programme that concluded in May 2017 with the exhibition An Interval of Time at Trongate 103, NPG is now looking for a set of artists to enroll for the upcoming term.
Working in a small team and meeting monthly, emerging photographers will be offered support, guidance and experience in working to a creative brief from initial conception to the final editing process, culminating in a participant-led exhibition.
Aspects of the programme will include: * Guidance in delivery and execution of a professional brief * Industry professional lectures * Peer review sessions * Identifying an appropriate client * Self promotion * Meeting industry standards * Pitching work to industry professionals * Exhibition production
The programme comprises of monthly meetings in Glasgow over this period: while we do understand that sometimes life and work can get in the way unexpectedly, it is important that you feel able to make this commitment before accepting a place.
If you are interested in taking part, please send six images of your work and a statement (300 words max) to email@example.com describing your work, and how you think this opportunity could be of benefit to your creative career.
Deadline: Friday 29th September, 5.00pm. Shortlisted applicants will be notified the following week.
Please Note: The New Photographers Guild programme is open to graduates who completed their course in the past two years.
The initial session will take place on Wednesday 25th October, 6-8pm. The programme will run until May 2018 (exact dates TBC), with a final exhibition taking place in 2018
