Futureproof, the annual showcase of graduating new talent from Scotland's photography courses, returns this year to Street Level Photoworks for its ninth instalment. An aspect of some of the work in this years' Futureproof explores materiality in photography, and its interdependence on other visual media such as sculpture, the ready-made, as well as tropes within painting. Other works deploy staged photography and constructed realities, as well as surreal observations on the everyday, the incidental and the diaristic. Seven art schools and universities in fine art and photography at BA level have offered up another wave of graduates producing exuberant and engaging work – from Glasgow School of Art, Duncan of Jordonstone College of Art (dundee), Gray’s (Aberdeen), City of Glasgow College, Napier University (Edinburgh), Edinburgh College, and Edinburgh College of Art.
