Book Signing: Martin Boyce - A Partial Eclipse

Q+A & Book Signing: Martin Boyce – A Partial Eclipse
Street Level Photoworks, 04 August 6.30pm - please note this event is fully booked!

Street Level Photoworks are pleased to announce that Turner Prize winning artist Martin Boyce will be giving a short Q+A session on his photographic collection ‘A Partial Eclipse’, followed by a book signing and light refreshments.

Martin Boyce (born 1967 in Hamilton) studied Environmental Art at The Glasgow School of Art from 1987 to 1990, before completing an MFA in 1997. He has exhibited internationally, representing Scotland at the Venice Biennial in 2009 and he was awarded the Turner Prize in 2011.

Whilst perhaps better known for his large-scale sculptural installations, ‘A Partial Eclipse’ brings together photographs from an on-going private library of images. Edited down from hundreds of images, Boyce’s photographs are distilled into a beautiful book published by MACK in 2013. Much like his atmospheric installations, the dark and sombre tonalities of Boyce’s photographs have a quiet yet powerful presence.
